• What’s involved:
To process a mixed case load of straightforward planning applications, advertisement consents, Lawful Development Certificates, Listed Building, Conservation Area Consents, householder applications and other allocated work in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with the Council’s procedures under the supervision of senior officers.
Maintain adequate records in accordance with the Planning Area Manager’s requirements and agreed procedures.
Undertake site inspections to check neighbour notification, plans and site circumstances.
To check and assess submitted plans for errors and inaccuracies.
To assess and evaluate proposals in relation to the relevant legislation and policies, site circumstances and amenity issues including the effects on adjoining property and trees, having regard to consultations and specialist advice as appropriate.
To conduct negotiations with planning applicants, seeking guidance and advice from senior officers on more complex issues, as appropriate.
